The Jane Goodall Environmental Middle School "is an amazing academic environment that combines science, language arts, math, social studies and computers into a perfect climate for middle school students to learn and grow," according to JGEMS student, Audrey Killoran. "Students learn in a variety

of ways, including much creativity and many field trips. JGEMS is also very active in the community, always helping to make the world a better place. JGEMS is a positive new approach to learning."

JGEMS consists of ninety sixth through eighth graders, ages eleven through fourteen. The entire JGEMS school is a Roots & Shoots group.  Roots & Shoots is the Jane Goodall Institutes global program for youth, which emphasized care and concern for the environmental, animal, and human community.
