Feb. 5th - Addis Ababa, Ethiopia

The house we are staying at is located right next to a road named Bole. The section of Bole Road that our house borders is completely under construction. Completely. But, walking through, around, on top of, beside, next to, and under the construction is not discouraged. In fact, it is necessary. Business men balance precariously on dirt piles, ladies stride in between bull-dozers and trucks. We have become experts at navigating the exposed pipe-lines, dirt trenches, and heavy machinery. People always look at us skeptically...as if thinking, "these foreign girls won't be able to balance." But yesterday, with grocery bags in hand, we proved them wrong! Almost daintily and most definitely with grace (hehe), we trucked along our route. A group of construction men nodded in surprise.
