Curriculum
One World Youth Project Curriculum focuses on both cultural exchange and community service. The school year is divided into two sections: Part 1: Cultural Exchange Activities Part 2: Community Service Individual & Community U.N. Millennium Development Goal Focus Making a Difference...Think Globally, Act Locally
Part 1: Cultural Exchange Activities Individual & Community During the first part of the school year, One World Youth Project will focus on a specific activity* to help enrich the cultural exchange. For instance, participants may be asked to write down a recipe their family cooks, draw a map of the place where they live, or retell a legend from their country.
Every two weeks students will have several activities to choose from. Teachers/group mentors can choose to have students do activities as individuals or as a group. Although, each time there will be several activity options, students should not feel as though they have to do all the activity options…they can do one or as many as they would like. At the end of each two week period a student leader or adult mentor will be asked to mail or email a selection of the student work to One World Youth Project. The selections will be posted on the website. Our goal is not to make these activities seem like school work but rather fun mini-projects that will help enrich the experience of linking with a sister-school/group! Feel free to adapt, add on to, or change any of these activities to better fit your group! And, if you have ideas for any additional activities please email them to: info@oneworldyouthproject.org *The One World Youth Project Activities belong to the Project and its creators. Our goal is to spread cultural exchange...therefore, if an outside entity is interested in using one of these Activities please email info@oneworldyouthproject.org for informaton of how to do so.
