Activity 1:   Pie-chart

Create a pie-chart of your daily activities.

Start by making a list of things you do every day.

For five days record the approximate amount of time you spend on each of your listed activities.

At the end of the five days, average those the time-periods together for each category. For instance, if my category was getting ready for school and I spent 15 minutes on day 1 getting ready, 25 min. on day 2, 20 min. on day 3, 10 min. on day 4, and 15 min. on day 5…I would add these time lengths together and divide by 5.

15+25+20+10+15= 85

85/5 = 17 … meaning that on average I spend 17 minutes getting ready for school each day

Divide up your circular pie-chart into the accurately-sized sections (approximately) and label each one.

The Yuxin High School of Beijing, China

We did a survey of spare time. Here are the results. Most students prefer sleeping. Sleep takes up a lot of their free time, for it makes them forget unhappy things in life.

Sport is the greatest activity of all. If you’re not interested in sports, you’re not interested in life. Boys spend more time on sports than girls. Most of them at school like to play basketball. Unfortunately, we don’t have too much time on sports.

We have to study, but more and more students today begin to understand that study does not end with a school graduation. It is life itself. They certainly know that if they know more or learn more, they can life a very happy life in the future. Not only do we do our homework, but also learn something that can’t study in the books.

Computer plays an important part of our life. It can help us to learn about the real world more quickly, to learn what they want to learn and to think for themselves. Almost all students spend more or less time in playing computer. They treat computers as their friends.
