Morocco

Who: Allal Al Fassi High School

Where: Ifrane, Morocco

 

The students of Allal Al Fassi High School come from different regions surrounding Ifrane. Most of their families are involved in agriculture.  Most of the students speak Berber and Arabic fluently and are learning French and English. 

Allal Al Fassi High School was created in 2003, and it gathers almost 1000 students (males/females) from the city of ifrane and the surrounding area (Zaouia Sidi abdesslam, Tarmilat, Amghass, Ben Smim, Adghagh, Tighboula,etc.).

This High school has three main levels:
1) Common Core: Scientific / Arts
2) Baccalaureate First year : Scientific / Arts
3) Baccalaureate Second year: Scientific / Arts
Each level contains almost 250- 350 students. Those coming from the rural area surrounding Ifrane mainly the girls are hosted in the high school dorms.

Ifrane is located in the center of the middle Atlas, in the North of Morocco. It is distinguished with a mountainous relief, with a gradient altitude going from low hills of the northwest to the high summits of the southeast.
