Yelapa, Mexico
For the next two weeks members of the Green Team from Sherwood High School in Maryland will be posting entries on their experiences visiting their sister-school in Yelapa, Mexico! Enjoy! -Jess :)
Today our whole group went horsebackriding to the waterfalls that Yelapa is famous for. We got to sleep in late which was nice because we have had to wake up early most of the previous days. We all traveled to the stable where the horses are kept by the beach. I was very suprised by the quality of the horses that we rode. I had expected them to be boring pack animals that would follow a leader and riding would be boring. It wasn't what I expected at all, the horses were energetic and friendly and it was almost a challenge to ride them which made it fun. Everyone went including Fran who is deathly afraid of horses because of past experiences. However in the first five minutes of riding David's horse had gotten out of control and kicked Aly in the leg. She was okay but pretty scared so she ended up just going home. I think I would have liked the ride better if it had been shorter, or we could have swam once we reached the waterfalls. Mr. Avila said that there was ecoli in the water so we shouldn't swim in it however David did, so I hope he's okay. The waterfalls were very pretty and I can see why Yelapa is known for them. I loved the whole trip and was extremely glad I went.
