Yelapa, Mexico

For the next two weeks members of the Green Team from Sherwood High School in Maryland will be posting entries on their experiences visiting their sister-school in Yelapa, Mexico! Enjoy! -Jess :)

A few days ago the kids of the Green Team went to the baile (dance) for the first time and had a blast. When we got there there were only a few people sitting in
chairs. We sat at the tables for a while and listened to the blasting music, then as the first set of girls went out to dance the other guys started to whistle and holler. Everyone laughed. The girls on the floor beckoned us (the Americans) to the
floor. The boys from our group refused to go up, but some of the girls did. The Mexicans started to clap and laugh. We danced for a while until we got tired. The Mexicans kept on dancing and started to dance with partners. Some of them were very good. There was one pair that was exceptionally good. After a while we left because we were so tired. We heard news that the dancing went on until about 3 in the morning. We don't know if we can ever keep up with the Mexicans' stamina.
