Who: Community Leadership Program

Where: Kenema, Sierra Leone

The Community Leadership Programme is an independent and legally registered group and consists of a National Committee, a Board  and Regional Co-ordinating teams. The projects are run by Co-workers, co-ordinated by a national office with a three-staff team, located in Kenema, Sierra Leone.

Its mission is to build the skills, experience and confidence of young people and communities to effect positive social change.

It combines community development, health education promotion, working with NGO's, and microenterprise development work in dynamic projects carried out by teams of volunteers  of age 18-26. The programme provide opportunities for young people to build their skills and leadership capabilities on grassroots development projects.

We believe that young people can make a meaningful contribution to the development of communities in our partner villages and towns. These efforts answer needs at the grassroots level and match the national development strategies in each of the villages, towns and chiefdoms in which we work.
