Curriculum
One World Youth Project provides its participating groups with 8 months worth of curriculum. In October, youth learn about the importance of cultural exchange in taking positive action. In November, they learn about all of the UN Millennium Developments Goal and begin to narrow in on their focus MDG. Each sister-group pair is assigned the same MDG, uses identical curriculum and is encouraged to communicate about each monthly assignment. Each MDG is explored in the curriculum through a real life, personal story of someone whose life intersects with the focus MDG. For more about the curriculum...click here.

OWYP groups 2008 MDG service projects are now underway! Here are some examples:
Nauset Regional High School of Eastham, Massachusetts, USA recognizes that...
....across the world people needlessly suffer every day from preventable and curable diseases, that in developed nations we often take for granted. However, these diseases lurk in our own backyards too, our own communities, even if sometimes we'd rather be blind to them. In our small and isolated community of Cape Cod, Massachusetts, USA one of these devastating illnesses is a painful reality for many people: HIV/AIDS. Our project will focus on this aspect of MDG 6, because we see a need for positive action on the topic of AIDS here. The goal of our community service project is to raise not only awareness about HIV/AIDS, to educate and dispel misconceptions, but also to gain the interest of youth in our community about AIDS where we live, and how it affects us....We propose to make a short documentary film about AIDS on Cape Cod and distribute it to health classes, in several schools.... click here to read their complete action plan
