The Environmental Network of Nayarit is a group of 14 boys and girls between 15 and 24 years old, they develop the program "Sociedad Consciente, Ambiente Sano" (Conscious Society, Healthy Environment).  The project started in May 15, 2005 by six young Scouts, and a year after became finalists in the international competition Volvo Adventure developed with the United Nations Environment Program (UNEP).

The project was designed taking in account the Youth of the Scout of the World Program of World Organization of the Scout Movement and Gifs for Peace Program.  The aim of the project is to create the link between this with other organizations and persons, a concerned society with the skills to face the environmental problems based in the consciousness of caring, and trying to advance the implementation of sustainabile development programs where youth involvement plays a key role.

Tepic, Nayarit, Mexico is an urban city with almost 400,000 inhabitants.  It is surrounded by mountains which is actually the meaning of the city's name in original dialect - "valley surrounded by mountains".  It is a calm city all of the time and has nice weather year round.
